This summer I took a couple days off to extend the Fourth of July weekend. We packed up the car and drove up to Racine, WI to spend some time with Cori's family. As always, we had a blast spending time on the boat and hanging out with the family.






Elly had her first swimming pool experience, and wasn't too thrilled. It was a little cool that day, and we think she got too cold.



But once she was dry and warm, it didn't take her long to get back to her usual cheerful self.

Dylan was a little more resilient and had a great time.



Elly also went sailing for the first time...

...and watched her first fireworks.


It was a great weekend, and a fun time was had by all. They even managed to surprise me with a birthday celebration, complete with snickerdoodle cookies (my favorite).
